BancTec Secures $16 Million Contract with Ontario Ministry of Finance

Canadian Provincial Government Turns to BancTec for Remittance Processing Solution

BancTec, a leading global provider of document and payment processing solutions, has been awarded a six-year, $16 million contract to provide a comprehensive remittance, data and image processing solution for the Revenue Operations and Client Services Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Finance (OMF).

BancTec emerged as the winner of the contract after a rigorous RFP process, which included a demonstration of solution functionality to the OMF. The contract includes an option for an additional four years of maintenance and professional services.

Centered on BancTec’s PayCourier remittance platform, it will be integrated with our archive, image quality and capture solutions.”

In 2005, an RFP was released as part of the OMF’s long-term strategy to refresh their legacy system with a new and all-encompassing remittance, data and image processing solution. In addition to responding to the RFP, BancTec performed a two-day demonstration where all major functionality and integration points were demonstrated to the OMF evaluation team.

The replacement system requires a complete end-to-end solution that includes hardware, software, professional services, hardware maintenance, software support and consumables. As part of the overall solution, BancTec will provide the following goods and services to OMF:

Initial installation of the hardware and software will be completed by March 31, 2007, with the remainder of the solution delivered in subsequent phases, Fallin said.
